Starting a new blog

This is something I have wanted to do for a while and now here I am finding myself wanting to blog about genealogy and the interesting stuff I come across along the way, or a good tip to share that might help someone else in their research. This is something I think I want to do professionally, eventually, but in the meantime, I am excited about sharing what I know or putting what I don't know out there. Feel free to leave constructive criticism or sharing other ideas I might not have necessarily considered! That being said, yesterday I found a real gem while I was looking for information on my fourth great-grandparents online yesterday. It occurred to me to see if there would be any information on them in google books, so I looked at the county where my 3rd great-grandmother was known to have lived in, in Beaver Co, PA. I put her maiden name into the little search button when I clicked on one of the books, and boy, not only did I find her, but I found her parents, as well as 9 of her siblings. Needless to say I was ecstatic to be able to give her a whole family, as all too often the females are not as well documented as the men in the family are. My tip, then is to check the various counties where you know, or have good reason to believe, that a family is located at. You might find out more than you think! Incidentally, for those who are curious, the family I am talking about is Jane Elliott Keenan and that of her parents, William Keenan and Margaret Patterson.
